Sentences revision

Boost those writing skills by learning more about sentences!!

‘2 A’ Sentences
This simply means 2 adjectives before the noun and 2 adjectives after the noun.
Example:
It was an old, dilapidated house with an overgrown and weedy garden.

‘O.I’ Sentences
This stands for outward inward! What is happening on the outside, what is the character thinking on the inside?
Example:
He smiled, shook the man’s hand and greeted him warmly, (Inside however, he was more terrified than ever.)

Name person first Sentences
Helps to get subordinate clauses into the writing.
Example:
The old man, when questioned, stated that he had seen nothing.

Short Sentences for tension
Short punch sentences whenever something goes wrong in writing. Creates tension. Follow this technique up with a list sentence.
Example:
It was dark. The wind screamed. He opened the door. He saw nothing. The shrill, piercing screaming noise hit him as soon as he entered the room though!

3 ed sentences
Begins with 3 related adjectives each of which ends with …ed. All 3 ed words are followed by a comma.
Example:
Frightened, terrified, exhausted, they ran from the creature.
Amazed, amused, excited, he left the circus.
